First State Duathlon 2020
For those competing in the "official" course, the legs of the course can be found on Strava and are linked below. The course begins and ends at Brandywine Park in Wilmington, Delaware near the Brandywine Zoo. 100% of the route is paved and can be completed on any type of bike, including road bikes.

First Leg: 5k Run - https://www.strava.com/routes/2713137638400122540
Second Leg: 11.6 mile Bike - https://www.strava.com/routes/2713140034234760876 (complete two laps)
Third Leg: 1.1 mile Run - https://www.strava.com/routes/2713136894445548204

Some notes from some of the competitors completing the official course:
-For the run legs, turn right from the zoo onto N. Park Drive, and stay to the left to get on the sidewalk (so the road is on your right next to you)
-For the bike leg, turn right from the zoo onto N. Park Drive, and veer to the right to get on the trail (so the road is on your left below you)

To record your results and submit officially, you should first download the Strava app (free), create an account, and save the three courses linked above.  We recommend recording your time with a watch and manually entering it into the Strava app.

To begin, we recommend parking your bike at the colorful bike rack near the main entrance to the Brandywine Zoo and begin your run heading down the hill on Van Buren Street.

After you've completed the course, please screenshot your legs and times and submit them via email to [email protected] or post to the Facebook event. We will follow-up with any questions and compile the results and announce the winners online in August. You are welcome to compete multiple times, and please register separately for each attempt. Only your fastest overall time will count for the official course standings.

For those who compete in the virtual "run-ride-run anywhere" course, you can also screenshot your times and course and submit them via email or on the app.  Please contact us with any questions.
